1932 Receipt from Modern Library Central

This original purchase receipt accompanying a direct order from Modern Library headquarters was laid in to a copy of a first of Balzac's Droll Stories published late in 1931. The date of the receipt is May of 1932. (The date doesn't show well in the scan, but it's there.) The reverse shows the list of the extant library then, ending with Mann's Magic Mountain which came out in the Spring of 1932. At the very bottom of the image on the right is an advertisement for the special gift sets.
