Thomas Bulfinch was a native of Boston.  His vocations were teaching and accounting, but his leisure time was devoted to further pursuit of the classical studies which he had begun at Harvard. "The Age of Fable" established his fame, and "The Age of Chivalry" and "Legends of Charlemagne" completed a labor that will remain a perpetual monument to his name.  This edition of Bulfinch is complete.  For the reader's convenience the index has been divided into three parts, following each book. The illustrations are famous paintings reproduced in Aquatone. The volume is one of which the publishers are particularly proud.
