Notes on Ibsen's Plays

The content of this volume changed over the years, keeping the same series number 6 and building on the base of the three original plays in the original edition:

  • 1917—A Doll's House/Ghosts/An Enemy of the People 
  • 1935—Add John Gabriel Borkman
  • 1946—Remove Borkman; add The Master Builder and an introduction
  • 1950—Same 4 plays but with a new intro writer

In 1957, these plays would be combined with two others in a different translation and published under the title Six Plays (details treated separately on the Ibsen page) but keeping the same series number (#6).
