Notes on Voltaire's Candide

The first printing of the 1930 edition has a note on the reverse of the title page: "Candide was first published in The Modern Library in 1920. Since then over 100,000 copies have been printed and the plates destroyed. This first edition from new plates, containing Parts I and II, was printed in June, 1930."
