Notes on Thurber's The Thurber Carnival

This title is notorious for retaining its First Modern Library Edition slug on the copyright page long after the first real printing. Because the first printing had no catalog at the back of the book, the only way to identify a first printing is to go by the binding style (type 8) and the dust jacket list (379 titles).
